"I'm an instant star. Just add water and stir.
David Bowie "

Well a star was born last night when Howler Records had it's label launch concert and party. Despite the late hour I decided to go check it out and was extremely impressed with the two bands who performed there Nitromusk and the Bamboo Kids. Keep your eyes and ears open this label is here to stay

"One night in a club called `The Shaking Hand'
There was a ninety-two decibel rocking band
The music was good and the music was loud
And the singer turned and he said to the crowd -
'Let there be rock'"

"And crawling on the planet's face
Some insects called the human race
Lost in time, and lost in space
And meaning "

Frank Miller is a genius! I just finished reading "The Dark Knight Strikes again" a followup to his seminal book "The Dark Knight Returns" where find a new Batman one who has fallen from grace left for dead in a world run by Lex Luthor and Brainiac where the old heroes like Superman and Wonder Woman are being blackmailed into doing things for propagandistic purposes. It is a different approach to the super hero world. One so well depicted by Alan Moore in his "watchmen" where the hero and the anti hero blend into one and the world is painted as bleak, violent and commercial.
I used to read comics a lot more years ago but this one I had to pick up because it is such a great metaphor for the world we live in now which is unfortunately bleak, violent and commercial. I would like to leave this post with a scene from this great book where Wonder Woman trying to save Captain Marvel from Death asks him where he's going and he answers "Where do wishes go? Where do dreams go when you wake trying to remember them?.... nowhere...."

It really moved me and you guys should trying and pick it up and read it.
