Not much to say about it .. the food was excellent .. the ambiance was excellent .. the wine was good too... definitely a place I'd like to try again.... Today is friday and thank heavens for that I just cant wait to do absolutely nothing as usual this weekend. I might have to suck it up though and help the wife do things.. we'll see....

Dive into the sea of thought, and find there pearls beyond price. Moses Ibn Ezra

Oh we dove alright and we found the pearls too expensive ones at that. Last night leg three of our culinary tour of NYC the Sea Grill at Rockefeller Center. I had always wanted to eat in front of the skating rink. We go in a n they sit us in the boondocks with a very small view of the rink. The rink itself was full of NY rangers signing autographs and playing with kids.. I guess it was to distract the fans from them firing their coach. Back to the restaurant I ask for the prix fix menu and I get a piece of paper with only one item per course. Now the reason for Restaurant Week is to entice new customers to go in and to showcase the restaurant's specialties.. NONE of the three items were on the actual menu... We end up having to order a la carte and granted the food was very good, the portions were minimal.. and NOT to warrant the 90 dollars we spent... buyers beware the Sea Grill is as expensive as a trip to the islands for the real thing.. might as well do that at least the weather would be warmer

At it again

Those Pogo people are at it again .. they have started an MSN group where we can bitch about everything and keep in touch .. maybe it'll bring more readers here ... who knows... for me it's just another way of harassing the beast!!!
We must believe in luck. For how else can we explain the success of those we don't like? Jean Cocteau

The luck of knowing Tony

Yesterday night two of our tour of culinary NYC we ended up at the Lenox Lounge a nice trendy upper east side restaurant. I found out I knew the owner/manager and his name is Tony Fortuna (Luck in Italian). Dinner was good and drinks were free which was why it's good to know people... I don't think I'd go back there but never say never... in other news....

why can't cops in Wisconsin mind their own business like they do in New York?

once again from the NY Post

An army of turned-on guys booed and hissed at cops in Wisconsin when they arrested two women allegedly performing a sex act in public.
Amy Williams and Meagan Kleinheinz were busted for lewd behavior after they intimately touched each other while half-dressed near a window display in downtown Madison.

The publicity stunt attracted a crowd, then the cops. As Williams and Kleinheinz were led away in handcuffs, onlookers hurled catcalls at the officers, insisting the women didn’t do anything wrong.

Thought: Why does man kill? He kills for food. And not only food: frequently there must be a beverage. Woody Allen

well hello there all you three people reading this ... did you recover from the superbowl extravaganzas yet? well today after I spent the first 35 bux I ever one at poker .. I'm going to talk about restaurants.. yes it is once again Restaurant week in NYC and we decided to book five places five nights and do a little culinary tour of NY so first up was Artisanal aka behold the power of smelly cheese.
this bistro style place has made it's name for having a cheese counter where you can buy and take home one or more of 251 cheeses... the 30.03 menu was interesting and I decided to have some tasty french white pudding which is basically a really soft sausage ... hanger steak and for dessert a cheese plate 6 bux extra... we ended up spending muchmore than 30 bucks a head because of the drinks b ut then I noticed that the quality for price ratio is really good and they have about 300 wines by the glass... the clinetele looked young and hip and overall the food was deliscious especially the smelly cheese!!!! well tomorrow we'll talk about the Lenox Room
