See the nice boys - dancing in pairsGolden earring golden tanBlow-wave in the hairSure they're all straight - straight as a lineAll the gays are machoCan't you see their leather shine. Joe Jackson

And so it goes - go round again

"The European style of basketball is a lot more ball movement, a lot of player movement like in soccer," Mike D'Antoni

When I was growing up in Milan, I used to go see plenty of Basketball games... My home team was one of the best in Europe and I saw players like Daryl Dawkins, Benoit Benjamin, Vinny Del Negro and Bob Macadoo. Danny Ferry also created controversy by forgoing the NBA for more money and less games.
There was one player in the 80's who was above the others, one of the best point guards in the world and always graceful and full of surprises... I saw him play and I saw him coach, he won almost everything possible, championships, cups both as a player and as a coach.
He will always remain in my heart for with him a have suffered and rejoiced many many times...
Mike D'Antoni is now on the way to winning and NBA title as head Coach of the Phoenix Suns and I am extremely proud of this Italian American once called "Arsenio Lupin" for his graceful ways in stealing balls and running the "Parquet". He has been nominated Coach of the Year by his peers and is now working with one of my best friends' friend in making the Phoenix franchise the best in the country.
Absent my NY Knicks I have ound a team to root for and mainly because of Mike... So thank you Mike for all the dreams Past and present

There is no such man as Anakin Skywalker!(And yet, there is such a man as his son.) Darth Vader (The Darth Side: Memoirs of a Monster)

I just found this interesting Blog ... It is not very well written but extremely imaginative... It is Called The Darth Side: Memoirs of a Monster and you are more than welcome to click on it....

My Birthday came and went with a huge headache... all I could really say was ahngover and I couldn't even blame Jeff (see archives)... I did however have a ton of fun and I still hear stories of what I did that night that are unbelievably embarassing... They involve breakdancing, whipped cream and shirtless creatures...

A burden was lifted from me today that those in the know will understand.. it is very hard sometimes to think about someones own life only to find out that the problems that arise may be insignificant if compared to the problems that burden the people you love.. but all is well now in Denmark so you needn't worry....

The price of tomatoes in China has not changed and I am now reading yet another Tim Dorsey book ... does this guy ever stop making me laugh??? the answer is No... after that I will read Rubha Hunish which should be arriving any day now and then I will look for the next installment of the working man's Mystery by L.T. Fawkes which should be already in bookstores...

Music is still a ton of JJ whom I saw solo this past month and with Todd Rundgren... Joe Jackson still performs to the max and he still is a pompous Brit but I will worship the earth he walks on any day....

The Pixies are Back!!! Kim Deal's band is on the road again and I am left wondering if she remembers many a drunken night at No-Tel Motel on avenue A... only time will tell.. rest assured that I wil not be the one to go to the tabloids... Till then it's another starry night in NC

I am prepared to meet my Maker. Whether my Maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter.
Sir Winston Churchill

So here it is another birthday... another day to remember or forget. Quite frankly my last few birthdays have been a little depressing not because I don't have any people to spend them with but because I always have high expectations of what might happen... maybe too high... right now I have 4 tickets to a ball game and nobody to go with .. I mean some people were scheduled to go and bailed.. I'm still going becuase I love baseball but we'll see who else is coming... I invited a few friends out for drinks afterwards but I have no Idea who is showing up... I plan to drink heavily and spend some time with close friends but then? what happens after that? only time will tell

Rock journalism is people who can't write interviewing people who can't talk for people who can't read. Frank Zappa

I Used this quote a while back in 2003 and I needed to lift it again to say how much I am glad a got back in touche with an old friend from my Rock and Roll days... He indeed used to be a Rock Journalist but one of the good guys in a world full of people who wanted the free stuff so they could sell it at the nearest used CD store.. Oh and I used to run into a ton of those in my day ... well my friend has written a book about .. hmm I really don't know what it's about yet but as soon as I receive it from Italy I will review it... anyway Davide if you become a reader..welcome to my diaries... and if you just stop by from time to time enjoy and I look forward to exchanging more thoughts with you

Addendum

Someone just broke into my Bartender's car and stole her stereo this guy kept coming in and out of the restaurant asking for money and such... fortunately we got his license plate and the cops will be here soon
In the fight between you and the world, back the world.
Frank Zappa

Never a dull moment..... it all started out with 2 drunken patrons trying to get in their car and us taking their keys away... after the cab decided not to show up we called the cops and they took them home... the girl even tried to kiss me a couple of times after asking me for mosharella stiks.... Then I get a knock on the office door a while later and my dishwasher proceeds to tell me there's a fight going on... perpetrator immobilized by three people when let go lunges at my bouncer this happens three times until the cops get here again and take him away in cuffs.....

In other news.....

Cliffy B Rocks!!!! he brought me 2 video games1 t-shirt and an action figure... I told him he needen't do anything that I'd still be his friend but he said he get's the stuff for free... so thank you Cliffy B....

The Mets won 4 in a row after losing 5 in a row and I scord some free Durham Bulls tix wohoo

Do not abandon yourselves to despair. We are the Easter people and hallelujah is our song. Pope John Paul II

As I write again today it is with immense sadness about the passing of Pope John Paul the II.
He was the one I grew up with and as much as I might have disagreed with soem of his ideas, he was truly the Pope of the 21st Century. So a moment of silence for him and let's hope the next one will be a little less conservative.

"There are only two places in the league - first place and no place." Tom Seaver

Yes it is here again whether you're a fan of the Yonkies, The Mets or the Arkansas Travelers Baseball is back and stronger than ever and I for one rejoice in the fact I can watch any team I want any time they are playing.

In other news...

How about them Tar heels huh? We were crazy busy and it was overall a good night....

Why did the Chicken cross the road?

well to get to the Perdue factory of course.... Oddly enough the same day we lost the Pope we lost another visionary. Frank Perdue died after a short illness. he was 84 the same age as John Paul the II.
